Spudbar is an exciting and fast growing business because our great food is supported by lots of positive elements working together.

The passion to create a food revolution

Spudbar was founded in 2000 around the simple promise to create delicious food that’s healthy, great value and lightening fast. Back then if you wanted something quick, it had to be ‘fast food’ and fast food was junk food. We created something different - people loved it and we continue to refine it. We now spend a lot of time striking the balance that ensures our meals stay really healthy while we evolve our menu to become more interesting, and make sure preparation time remains at just a couple of minutes.

A unique food offer

Spudbar is a rare combination of healthy, hearty and delicious.

When developing our menu, first we create a delicious meal, with fresh ingredients and the un-vetted imagination of our favorite chefs – slow cooked ragus, chilli-bean combinations and delicious curries etc. Then we stuff it inside the nutrient-rich gem of natural goodness that is the humble baked spud ((and now sweet potato as well).

Our latest menu has 15 delicious dishes that take around one and a half minutes to hand over.

Passionate and loyal customers

Even we have been pleasantly amazed by how regularly our loyal customers return. Our research tells us that around 50% of our customers eat at Spudbar at least once a week. Increasingly we get local chefs, footballers, athletes and fitness workers as regulars, as much as we still get the local regulars looking for a big and bold bite on the way home from work or a place to settle in for an informal and satisfying meal. We’ve been doing lots of research of late and our new menu and other surprises in the pipeline have been driven by the feedback we have had from customers.

A great team

Spudbar is an evolving vision delivered by lots of great people. The owners that work in the business have a shared passion and bring to it compatible skills and expertise.

CEO Kirsten Roberts is an MBA mother of two and the driving force of Spudbar. Kirsten has had responsibility for building every facet of the Spudbar business into a robust model that consistently delivers growth potential to franchisees and delicious hearty meals to customers.

Simon McNamara is a serial success story in the ‘healthy food retail’ category of Australia’s franchising industry. Simon founded and grew Viva juice to 23 stores, selling it to Boost where he was CEO, growing the company from 70 to 160 stores. He is a founding shareholder of Grill’d and brings all his experience to Spudbar where he is an executive director.

Ant Morell is a brand and marketing strategist in charge of building the Spudbar brand and driving all our marketing and communications. Over the past year he has led a re-imagining of Spudbar that has broadened its appeal and positioned the business as a leader in the fast casual food category.
